It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood today! I have all the windows open. There is a nice breeze blowing. I hear the sounds of a neighbor building something – lots of hammering and sawing going on. Another neighbor is mowing his lawn. Someone else is running a chain saw. Not sure what that is all about! I have a ‘to-do’ list that is a mile long. However, what is first on my list? Well, stitching, of course! Guilt usually drives me to do all the chores first, leaving little time for the fun stuff. I just decided to play hooky today!
I’m working on a piece called Christmas Windows 2 by an Italian designer, Sara Guermani. I like her style – crisp, clean, somewhat contemporary, but with an old world twist. I have 3 of the 4 quarters of the window done. There is a mistake somewhere in the top right part of the window, but I can’t find it, so I just keep stitching and adjusting. I’m hoping it comes out ok in the end!
While I really like this pattern, I am really eager to get it done. I have been working on it for almost 2 years, not because it is that hard….but because I have made other things a priority. I now have projects stacking up. I have a cute little flag project to do, along with a little heart bag. Emily has kitted several projects for me like “But First Tea” and a Hands On Block Party design, and a The Bee Company Winter design, and I still am working on a cute Alma Lynne scissors fob. Those are just the ones in my bag. That isn’t counting the hundred or so projects upstairs. You get the idea – I am significantly behind in stitching time!
So – a rearrangement of my priorities is in order – make more time for stitching. Besides, I have a cute little wool quilt project I would like to work on!
