A Pansy Parade of Needlework Accessories
We found these darling needlework accessories stitched with silk floss by Periwinkle Promises at our last market. We loved the whole collection and wanted to bring it to you. We’ve stitched the needle book and the scissor case (let us know if you are interested in these classes being repeated) and are on to the pin cube and the accessory tin this quarter. All classes are two sessions long and will include finishing instructions. You must already know how to work on linen. All classes in this grouping are intermediate level.
Class Three: Pansy Parade Pin Cube- Dates: Sat. May 15 & 22

- I can think of a lot of ways to use this pin cube design. All finishing materials are included. It is stitched on 28ct. Linen with6 specialty stitches, Smyrna, holbein, long arm cross, upright cross, and padded satin Rhodes hearts.
Class Four: Pansy Parade Sampler Tin- Dates: Sat. June 19 & 26

- A wonderful design for the top of your accessory tin. All the finishing materials are included. It is stitched on 28ct. Linen with 11 specialty stitches including, queen Montenegrin, holbein, long arm cross, padded Rhodes hearts, Smyrna, double backstitch, rice, mosaic, French knots and spider web roses.
Midas Touch Beaded Ribbon Scissor Case

Wait ‘til you see this gorgeous scissor case and fob made out of ribbons and beads! They are so easy to put together. You will have this finished in no time at all. Sweet Heart for You! Wool Felt Applique

A Sweet heart, just for you. This charming wool appliqué pillow has been designed for you by Patti Connor of Sam Sarah Designs. Your kit includes Weeks Dye Works Wools and fibers, Gentle Art fibers and Just Another Button Company flower and bird buttons—just for fun! We’ll get your wool pieces ironed and cut out and your hand appliqué started in class. This little pillow would make a special stitching present for a fellow needlework enthusiast or a Valentines gift for your mom, aunt, sister or friend. Bring your won brown bag dinner and we will have a fun night!
Beginning Punchneedle

Let me show you a new stitching technique I learned at market. The pin we will create has the look and texture of miniature hooked rugs. Punch needle can be used to create jewelry, clothing embellishments and more. It’s fast, fun and easy to do. Punch needles are not included in the price of class, but will be available after class for purchase. Please bring sharp scissors to class with you.
Beginning Cross Stitch (one session class)
Level: Beginner

Learn some basics to make your stitching easier. You will learn to separate strands of floss, thread your needle and start stitching! The basic cross stitch and backstitch will be covered along with how to read a graph. Select either Aida or linen fabric for your project. By the end of this course, you should be able to pick up almost any pattern and know what to do next. A great refresher course for the self-taught as well. You MUST sign up at least one week in advance so we may prepare your class kit.
Primitive Pin Cube (one session class)

I just love patriotic designs—don’t you? We are going to make the Patriotic Pine Cube Box designed by Cherrywood Design Studio. Your class will include the pattern (with 6 designs total!), Weeks Dye Works gold line, Crescent Color fibers, Weeks Dye Works wool, Just Another Button Company Just Pins set, coordinating fabric and mounting boards.
This class includes homework. Please sign up two weeks in advance to pick up your pattern, linen and fibers. Stitch the star design before class. Class time will be spent assembling the cube pin cushion.
Year Round Button Class (one class session)

Year round buttons! Threads That Bind has designed a really fun pattern for punching up four seasons of buttons. We will work on the Spring Bunny or the Summer Crow—your choice (or take it twice and make both!) In class we will demonstrate finishing techniques for a button pin or an ornament mounted with Weeks Dye Works wool.
Supplies included in the class will be the pattern (includes all 4 seasonal designs) button mount and pin back, a Just Another Button Company button and one piece of Weeks Dye Works wool.
Additional supplies needed include your scissors, a 5 inch hoop, a 3 strand punchneedle and Weeks Dye Works flosses or fibers of your choice to punch with.
This class includes homework. Please sign up two weeks in advance to pick up your pattern and choose your fibers. Punch and complete your design choice before class. We will work on the finishing in class.

Have you seen the adorable silk gauze kits from Erica Michaels? Love the look but don’t think you can stitch on something so small? Start with this great design and class to show you tips and tricks with working with silk gauze. It really is easy and lots of fun! Class kit is all inclusive; you must register 2 weeks in advance so we can have the kits available for you. Bring scissors and magnification, if you need it.
Twilight Time Lemonade Picnic

Join us Saturday July 10 right after Sampler Club for our first ever Twilight Time Lemonade Picnic. We will share lemonade, fried chicken and fun. We will start dinner at 4:30 pm and then all gather together to work on Just Another Button Company’s Lemon Slice pin cushion. Your kit contains Weeks Dye Works wools, Just Another Button Company’s buttons and Just Pin set and something new—a little bit of needle felting!
