I learned something new this year. There is a National Give Something Away Day, annually on July 15th. Typically, I find out about these “national” celebration days at 6 pm on the day of the celebration so I can’t really do anything about it (like National Skip Work Day, which was in March and I found out about it – after I went to work!) So I was tickled when I discovered it 1 – before hand and 2 – enough time a head that I could plan an event around it!
The “official” National Give Something Away Day suggests starting a pay-it-forward line at your local coffee shop, cleaning out gently used items and taking them to thrift shops, making donations, registering to be an organ donor, etc. All of these are great opportunities and I encourage you to pick one.
Cross My Heart is participating in #GiveSomethingAwayDay by asking you to make a fob and bring to give away on a special stitch day we have created for you. Monday, July 15, come stitch with us from 10:30 am to 4 pm and bring a finished fob to give away to another stitching friend. Please RSVP by Friday, July 12 so that we know how many will be joining us.
